The last time I thought about law school was in Andermatt, Switzerland. Six a.m, start gate of the Alpen Brevet, 106 miles, four passes, 16,000 vertical feet of climbing before I crossed the finish line. The starter touched my shoulder, I took my first peddle stroke and knew then that the adventure was the reward.

I’ve filled my life with fishing, backpacking, skiing, hiking, climbing and biking among the world’s deep valleys, high peaks and clear rivers. Those moments when I was cold, wet, exhausted and euphoric are my most treasured memories. And now, I would not trade a single moment on the Borgo Pass, Summit of the Matterhorn or first turns on Achavinsky.

Where I’ve been, is who I am.
